how to remove / paint grilles

can anyone assist me on how to remove the grilles from the front bumper and hood?

i want to paint it Shiny black, because that flat black looks dumb! lol.

any suggestions on how exactly to accomplish this? what kind of paint, ect.

think just spraying on a shiny lacquer or urethane would do the trick? or do i need to go full on shiny black paint?

the hood grill is easy to take off you need a socket ratchet there are bolt you need to un screw be careful tho the screw part is plastic and the nut it metal you can easily strip them. if you are replacing the grilles you can then just cut the plastic screws.
here is a link to some pictures i took while removing the bottom grill w/o taking the bumper off can be done

bumper grill is held on with adhesive tape.

Our cars don't have hoods... are you talking about the bonnet? :P

For the bonnet grill you will need a thin wedge, like a small flat head screw driver to get the hex bolts to actually start it's way down the threads.

What about the lower bumper grill?

I have the aero kit, if that makes a difference.

Thanks for the pics and help so far btw!

i did the jcw style grill i kn ow that you will need to trim ether the bumper or the clips. i would maybe carve out the bumper so that you have the full clip to hold it on

look at outmotoring they got pics of how to do it like i did but with the aero kit
