EDIT:

Interweb Sleuth over here. This post will be the one that will prove this is the EXACT HD Garage Door Bottom:
This is the photo off of Qwiklip's website (printscreened):

This is the the original poster
(EDM) of the DIY Home Depot Front Lip thread:

Hopefully this clears everything up.

LOL Come on dude, really?

This is the first time I have been back on my desktop since the 27th, so I still had the QwikLip website up. Decided to refresh. Maybe it's just a coincidence that now the "QwikLip" website has an instructions page with photos of how to install it, all with the original poster's car.

srtoad4 is just trying to sell his "own product" by advertising it on NAM, MINItorque, MINI2, and even other websites like Hyuandai, and Honda forums. LOL.

Well played.

Are you serious? They sent me a request for pictures during the install to dispay on their site, and I was happy to do that for them. I am in no way/shape/form affiliated with QwikLip or their product.

LOL cool story, bro.

So do you really have a Sonata and a Fit too or are those guys just saying the exact same thing as you on other forums?

Huh? I found out about QwikLip by doing a search for the EZLip, and it was a few bucks cheaper.

My other cars are an 05 Evo and an 09 FX35..what are you talking about?

Been a little over 2 weeks now, and still looks awesome! Scraped my driveway a few times and no signs of damage at all.

Next mod will probably be a 17% pulley, it's about that time!

Looks great to me and I wonder if this could be retrofitted to the rear spoiler. I think that little gizmo that fits up there costs $200.

I've actually been thinking of buying another one to try that out! I also read that it can be used to make side skirts, so I may do that too. Lots of options, the stuff is super durable from what I can tell. Pics from today ( 2 weeks after install, and over 300 miles):

I'll admit it; I bit and ordered the Qwiklip. Installation was super easy, and I was very happy with the results, my friends didn't believe that it was essentially Home Depot trim. Anyways, I put on about 1 week ago, let it set up for 26hrs using just the preinstalled tape, and off I went. I'm now at 9 days post install and the adhesive is starting to give out and droop in areas.

Not sure if I'll try to reattach it, or remove it completely.

That's weird, my QwikLip has been on for over a month and a half...what do you mean by droop? I noticed that the wind from driving pushes on it and thus it shows a bit more tape, but I went ahead and touched that up with a black sharpie. Other than that, even after scraping almost daily, it looks good as day 1. It doesn't sag/droop anywhere, and is perfectly straight throughout.

I mean that the adhesive is no longer the Qwiklip to the car...Now it looks like a PoutyLip. Prior to installation I even cleaned the car with a gentle solvent to clean it completely. Disheartening to say the least.

The adhesive they use is a joke. Cleaned mine and tried a small cut off piece and there's no way it would stay.

I did the HD version, used black silicone & painters tape to hold it in place over night while the silicone cured. If you do this don't forget to alchohol rub all your surfaces first to get good adhesion.

Love the look! I have a 2010 Clubman and would love to get this for her, but as I felt along under the bumper it's not straight all the way across. There is a slight dip near the ends on each side. Was your underneath straight across? Afraid how this would affect how it looks once installed.

Yeah you can't do the Home Depot thing anymore because the material they use now doesn't work with 3M tape, otherwise I would have done that as well. QwikLip is just as expensive anyways haha.

srtoad4, would love to do this on my Clubman, but under my bumper isn't straight. Was yours completely straight across the bottom? My bumper has a slight dip on each end, could I trim it across the bottom to even it up?

Yours looks great!!

I was foolish and purchased this only to be very disappointed when I received it. I asked to return it and was told I could not return it. The person would not respond to any more emails.
Some relationship with this company http://www.avtek2.com/

My experience Cheap product, expensive, bad customer service, stay away. If you want it buy the garage door seal at hardware store.

Yeah I used screws to hold mine in. I also recently ordered a new lower trim from OutMotoring for only 40 bones! Couldn't believe it was that cheap haha

so, i did try this concept out. went to HD, got the lip stuff, and some screws. i just did one wheel arch before deciding against the rest of the install (waste of $15 or so)

i reckon, if you used on single piece to go along the side skirt, and around the back wheel it would look better. i did kind of like the arch effect tho, made the car look lower.

You're right... doesn't look too good, but thanks for biting the bullet for the rest of us thinking about how it might look.
