Got them in! Very pleased with the quality. They'll be installed down the line but at the moment I am putting in an offer in on a house, so these will have to wait until I have fun money available again. Lol
I'm thinking about getting these and was wondering if I could put the switch In the blank space I have in my switch bank since my car doesn't have rear fogs. Could I either find another switch or another full bank and install it to make it turn on the rings? I'm wondering if this would be possible because it seems that since the switches are toggles that they run off of a relay. Would I have to fill my extra switch space with an aftermarket on/off switch to do this?
I'm assuming you talking about matching the "park light" not the actual t/s.
To do this you must first replace the T/S bulb itself, the park light illuminates yellowish because of reflection off the amber T/S bulb, I can't remember off hand the # (eu or us) but you need to replace it with one of the silver reflected bulbs, they look silver/chrome but illuminate yellow for the T/S.
Then if it's still not what you want you will need to replace the park bulb (194 is the us #) with either an white led replacement or xenon blue tinted incandecent bulb.
I tried to attach a pic but got some error. I mean the lights under the headlights I haven't taken out anything so I just assumed there was a single amber bulb in the housing. I asked at Canadian tire for a replacement bulb that was clear or would match my xenon and they looked at me like I was insane. I figured if just need to order something off the net somewhere. After those are changed its onto the xze for hibeam and fogs unless I get the ones from eBay you installed.
Sorry to revive an old thread, but BlwnAway... what color HID did you get from DDM so that headlights and fog lights match? Looking to order these fogs and going to get them installed this week.
Matching would be 4500's, but I went with 6000's all the way around for the slightly bluer color.
Plus, with DDM, their bulbs are so inexpensive why not just get the headlights too, for a perfect match.

Yup, just what I was thinking. I just ordered the fogs so should have them by this weekend. Currently have amber turn signals/parking lights.
Deciding if I wanna keep those and do white head/fog lights, or go white head lights, parking lights, and yellow fogs...
Might just order all like you said since they're so cheap. Do I need the mounting brackets option or just order the bulbs w/ballasts?
Answered your PM, but all you need bulbs and ballasts (slim ballasts is what I used) no brackets or error code eliminators, for headlights it's same thing unless you already have hid's then it's just bulbs.

So apparently theres a typhoon in Taiwan (that sounds weird saying in my head ) and their stock is all "damaged" according to the seller so they need to remanufacture the lights... long store short, they're refunding me.
Projector fogs are going to be a no go for now.
2 questions:
Do I really need to order the retrofit kit from ECS if Im just going to be doing custom wiring myself to a separate switch, not on the toggle bank?
If I decide to go with projectors later down the road, will I need to do all new wiring or can I just use the same ones I would for regular fogs, obviously just connecting them over to the new housing once I get them?

Can you link the retro fit page, I didn't find anything mini related. I'd have to see it to know if it's something you need.
As far as wiring, if your just adding a toggle switch then no, you don't need anything special, just have to wire it how you want hot/ignition/relay.
If the projector fogs you're getting are the same as the ones we got, you don't really need anything else but bulbs and wiring, it's a complete replacement housing that mounts inside the factory fog bucket in the core support using the same holes and all.

Link for Retrofit Kit... As for the projectors, Im not going to worry about them for a little while and just go with regular fog light housing and come back to the projectors once I get an Aero Front Bumper.
I did the swap this afternoon, pretty straight forward as you can imagine, just pull the bumper cover, turn the wheels all the way to the outside of the side your working on and pull the front inner fender plugs for access to the fog lights, pull the bulbs, and there's only 3 screws holding the housings in. I think start to finish was about an hour and a half. (it was only 35 degrees outside, so I was a little slow...) But everything went together perfectly, not even a near miss as far as fitment goes.
Here's some pic's:
And of course I now have a glass dome instead of a flat piece of plastic that is of course weathered and really needed polishing.
Here's the Factory Fogs:
Now the New Ones:
There is considerably less glare and are much brighter, but because of their position and aiming they are only brighter on the ground, the effect while looking at the car from the outside is just that, bright on the ground but not in your eyes, the light is much more focused down and far easier to look at if you were in an oncoming vehicle.
More pics: (sorry I couldn't get back to the same spot to take them.)
Factory W & W/O headlights:
New Ones W & W/O:
Honestly, except for the actual distance the light travels you could easily drive on these alone. (I wouldn't want to do it out where I live, it's pretty rural, but in the city no problem at all)
I'm using the same bulbs in both lights (8000's) and even though they looked the same before, they match perfectly now:
Over all I like them alot, they are brighter than the factory housings with an hid bulb, but absolutely less blinding to oncoming traffic, you will just have to weigh out wheather you think they're worth the $139.00 or not for yourselves. All in all I really like them and would buy them again if I had to, when there not on they look pretty good also, my only complaint is that the housings are so nice, it's a shame you can't actually see more of it. Now to see how they hold up.
Oh and when I took my factory housings out their were some burn spots on them, in my opinion it wasn't enough to cause alarm or a fire or anything but you can def. tell they weren't made to have an hid bulb in them, also not bad enough to stop me from doing another hid upgrade to a factory housing should I ever need to.
EDIT:
I thought about this last night, honestly I don't think you would "have" to pull the bumper cover, the 3 screws that hold in the housing are on the inside of the fog light indentation in the core support, but considering how easy it is to remove you still might want to just incase you drop one of the screws during instalation, and considering it takes what?, 5 or 10 min. to remove it does make seeing and doing what you have to a lot easier, plus you "will have to" if you need to adjust them.
The link above doesnt work anymore and I'd like to do this. Thanks
