Interior/Exterior MINI OEM Snow Traction Aid - Opinions?
MINI OEM Snow Traction Aid - Opinions?
I remember seeing these quite a while ago but lost them. Living in the mountains at 9000ft, my Xterra is my primary winter vehicle but I was just thinking about a road trip I'm planning this coming winter. I don't want to get snow tires/wheels and take them on a road trip, because I could wear down more of the tread than it's worth.
I was able to find them again on amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/MINI-Cooper-Ha...431810&sr=8-34
It seems like they are a MINI OEM accessory and I was wondering if anyone has experience with them. Being fabric, I could easily tuck them away in my MINI for the road trip and if I hit bad weather I could easily throw them on.
They only cost $97.50 with $6.49 in shipping, so it's really not that expensive. Thoughts?

I think the rubber version of chains would do more/last longer....
tire socks are pretty short lived....usually used just to get out of a driveway....not real miles...
If you plan to do a long winter trip, a agressive all season tire would be good....if you don't want snows....then just park for a day if it snows too much....
