I am leaning towards the Sportworks mount. Very stable entire bike mount. I am also considering the Viper with the front wheel mounts. Any thoughts either way?

I tried the the Yakima and could not make it secure. I bought a Mont Blanc rack from Moss Motors. It is very secure and has a higher load rating.

I really like fork mounts. They are the most stable system I've seen. Every time I've seen the full bike up on someone's rack, it's been a little unstable.

You can also use THULE rack accessories on your Yakima Rack. I'm using the THULE Velovice fork mounts.

DID,
The full bike being secure is a big issue for me. Have you seen the Sport works mount? I have heard it is the best full bike mount out there. What I don't want is an ankle biter. That is the worst I have ever seen. Thank you for your input.

No I haven't seen it. Do you have a link?

My big concern with any full bike mount is whether it will work with a variety of frame designs. Given some full suspension frames are hard to fit, and some road frames have thin tubes, the frame isn't the best spot to grab onto. I would also agree with you that the anklebitter is unsteady.

I use what I think is called the "Steelhead" fork mount on my Yakima. Very solid.

If you have a front wheel it will work.

I have some good friends that work at the largest Bike shop here in Columbus (BikeSource)
They say it is the best full bike mount. They stop short of saying it is the best mount because they like the Viper a lot too.
