With the Whalen **** reaching temps to match the freezing outdoors, I finally have a solution to the freezing ****. Mittins! That's right! My wife went to Old Navy and purchased infant mittins, size (3-6 mos.). This size mittin fits PERFECTLY over the Whalen **** and is quite easy to drive with it on. I thought this was my only way to have MINI all too mysewlf during the winter months.........Guess not!

Sounds like a winner D.D.! I have the Whalen,
and I just keep a pair of soft leather gloves in
the car. On cold mornings, I warm the car up a
good bit... Then, I'll put on the gloves if the ****
is still too cold. Leather on the chrome feels
pretty good!

God speed.

Weren't there some posts this past summer complaining of the metal shift ***** being too hot to touch in the summer heat?

Don't toss out that baby mitten when summer comes!

don't the mittens spin around over the ****? Not comfortable or cause
mis-shifts?

I use the factory **** so it's only cold on the top.

My factory **** gets cold...where are you from?

Hot in the summer and cold in the winter. I was thinking of a way to make a hot and cold element inside the **** so it could be heated or cooled. The Cadillac seats are now this way in there XLT's. It must be doable some how. Make my own short throw shifter with a hold down the center to run the wires. Hooked into the auto air or a manual switch. Ti could be done, who want to buy on?

I guess my wife loves me more than yours loves you!

She hand knitted me a custom wool '**** warmer' for Christmas. Looks really cute & reminds me of why I love her so much (almost as much as my MINI!)

Cheers & Happy 2004

I keep it in my coat pocket. That's why it's removable

Put a heated mitten or glove over the shift **** while the car is warming up. Keep it plugged into the cigarette lighter. A mitten or glove over the shift **** in the summer will keep the sun from heating it up.

How about a permanently sewn-n leather cover... like a baseball skin or a soccer ball type hackey sack. Whalen should offer this. All these on/off solutions are evidence of poor ergonomics.

RIGHT ON! You could just get in the habit of taking it inside with you, like the keys. you could even put it in the toaster oven at 200 for 4 or 5 minutes (no hotter: o-rings!) before heading out. Dipping it in boiling hot water ( the top end only, not the collar) would be 25 times faster heat-up too! It should keep that warmth for a long time: Whalen's **** is massive! Like a right hand warmer!

HA!
