Any picture comparison would be greatly appreciated. How is the MCS spoiler mounted? I'm thinking of replacing it with the Aero version.

Thanks.

The stock MCS spoiler has an opening at the top of the roof line facing the front of the MINI.
The aero kit spoiler will fit on any MC or MCS and is slightly longer than the MCS spoiler but it is entirely solid from the roofline back.

The stock MCS spoiler is both glued/taped on and bolted in place. I have seen the aero spoiler in person and I don't know that it would be worth the trouble to replace a stock MCS spoiler for that.

If I had a stock MC with no spoiler then the aero spoiler would be worth a look.

Thank you very much for all the pics, Minihune. Do you anyone else know how much the Aero spoiler cost and where I can get one besides at BMW?

When I get it done, I'll show some pics. Top secret (keep quiet, Rye)

I seem to recall seeing that a painted aero spoiler is $270, primed only is like $195.

Personally, I just snagged an MCS spoiler for my Cooper. Installed it today, so it did require me drilling holes. But doing a swap from MCS to Aero should not be at all difficult.

In my MINI accessory book it says the following Rear roof spoiler is for MC only!

Part numbers
51 71 0 021 452 (primed) $198
51 71 0 146 086 (white) $270
51 71 0 146 090 (black) $270

Try to get it at Classic Auto Campus a NAM sponsor and they will discount it.

This spoiler is the normal one found on the MC as an option

The Rear roof spoiler is longer on the top flaring than the normal MC spoiler here

To be sure you can ask the seller for the MINI part number. Maybe they have their pictures wrong and don't know the difference.
