Just installed the Lamin-X smoked film kit on the reflectors and tail lights. I love the look on my Ly/Ly. Check it out:

Woah those are some crazy wheels!

What I wanna do eventually is get some dark silverish or black rims, after I get my 35% tint done. It's gonna look so sweet.

Any suggestions as to how to smooth out the small ripples and/or bubbles with the lamin-x kits?

Thanks!

Hey Kilo,

Nice work! I am still on the fence about doing the tail lights, but they look really clean and stealth. I live in Irvine, so I think we are in the same neck of the woods, the cops around here always hassled me in my last car with all my light mods, so I am a little leary about doing it, but you have given me some courage.

Yeah, it's a sweet lookin' mod, I think it's definitely a matter of what kind of car you have too. Since we have Mini's, I don't think cops are loking at us as much as say, Mustangs with tail light mods. Just the connotation that goes with the kind of car I suppose.

Since we're just a sub compact pretty much, I think they are less likely to pull us over

Thanks for the compliments!

Kilo,

you should do the aero grilles (if you don't already have them) I think that it would look cool with your yellow and black theme. Especially if you are going to tint the car as well. Just a thought, I am a little biased though, because I just did them myself.

Yeah, I honestly have been thinking about doing the aero grilles. The only thing is, I like how the chrome grille looks. Eventually I may do that, after the rSpeed exhaust, and window tint

Thanks!

Well, just got pulled over. That took all of 3 days. It's not too bad, all I have to do is add red reflector tape somwhere and get the ticket signed off. Still sucks though

Sorry to hear that,

Did the cop make you peel off the tint? Also are you talking about the side reflectors needing red tape, or for the rear as well. 3 days, that's gotta be a record, well they look good anyways

He didn't make me peel off the tint right there, I'm not sure how legit that is anyway.

Basically his argument was this:

If you are parked at night with the car off, and a car is coming up the street, if there is nothing to reflect the light he won't see you. I kinda understand where he's comin' from, it's just frustrating...

bummer to here man. We've had tinted tails for 6 months or so now. No tickets, warnings... nothing. 1 Posse member (sheriff's posse) said we need limo tint on the mini

How do I remove the Lamin-X from the tail lights. I decided I didn't like the look of the tint with electric blue. Any help?

Psst, the tinted tails look great , but I'd remove the Chevier MINI.com sticker.

Yeah, haha, you don't even know how many people have said that to me man... It's already off...

Didn't know it was so bad to have the dealer sticker on the car...
