My 1st mod.. maybe?

I dont know if it counts as a mod. But I wrapped 1/2 my dash board last night with 3M carbon fiber vinyl. Wrapping the corners was tough but for a 1st-timer, I dont think it's too shabby.

Let me know what you guys think.

P.S. I only did one side because it was really late & I just couldn't wait to do at least one piece. haha Hopefully, I have some time to do the driver side tonight after work.

Now, if you can do the big ovals on the door and rear sides to match, maybe the center console behind the CD and HVAC controls.

I really want to do the ovals on the door & rear sides. Do you know where I can find instructions on how to take them off? or would I have to wrap it while its on the door?

I'm not too sure about the CD/HVAC area. You dont think it's too much carbon fiber in one area?

Let us know how this holds up over the next couple weeks with the temperature fluctuations. I did this same thing to my dash inserts and loved the results- they looked awesome for the first week, and then the vinyl started lifting all around the edges. Wound up looking really poorly done after just a couple weeks, so I pulled it all off.

I hope you have better luck than I did! Keep us posted

After I applied the 3M Dinoc to both panels, I left my car parked for a week since I take the train to work. This was back in August, at the end of the week, I came back to the car with nasty peeled edges.

I believe that due to the very curved egdes and corners, that just plainly applying the vinyl will not suffice. The heat didn't help either. So I purchased the 3M primer 94 that Lyle suggested and reapplied a new piece.

4 months later, it's holding up like a beauty. Looks professionally done. When installing, you should reserve a good amount of time so that you can focus and put more attention towards the application. Remember to be patient while applying, it is a delicate process. It'll be much more worth it when you see the difference in the result.

Sorry guys, but these are the best pictures I can get. I had to crop it to make it small enough to upload.
