Driving lights question

Hi everyone,

I always want to get those driving lights as I feel the front is lacking something without them.

I haven't done any extensive research in this...besides those $600 OEM driving lights, what are my options here? Hella?

Since I don't really have any plan to use these other than "show", I would like to reserve those funds for ECU tune or mods like that. Hence, OEM sounds quite pricey to me. And do these require professional installation? I hate to have wires lying around here or there...

Thanks much!!

I purchased my lights here http://www.vipcustomparts.com for a very reasonable price. If you are handy you can do them yourself, they do have a DIY on it here on NAM. I just paid to have someone do it for me. Good Luck!

Yea, tribute to Patty. They do look "right".

Just for show, try good old JCW or any off-road truck discount house.

I just picked up a pair of genuine Hella 500's on clearance at Walmart yesterday for $30!! That said, it appears that most places have them for between $65 and $80. I'm pretty sure I've seen people mention that Autozone stocks them.

I'll be installing mine on Saturday before we head to Chicago for MTTS, so hopefully all goes well. I spent a good hour in Home Depot tonight coming up with a creative way to mount them to the grill, as there really isn't anywhere else to mount them. Finally got something figured out, now just have to hope it makes a successful jump from theory to reality!

Let us know if your creative method works. I assume some sore of two piece clamp.

Basically, yes. With a copper reducer on the outside of the grill to put a bit of space between the lights and the grill itself, in case heat gets to be an issue.

I'll try to post pics of the relevant pieces later, after I get them painted up.
