I have a 2003 Indie Blue /White MINI COOPER with factory white hood stripes.I want to add boot stripes. Can someone direct me to some photos showing where they should be placed to be in line with the front hood stripes? For some reason I can only find pictures of the MINIS with the broad center stripes at the rear. Also,I'm not sure if straight stripes would look good at the back.Does anyone know of commercially available ones with a slight curve to them to match the arcing of the front ones? There's a picture somewhere on this site of a car like this but I lost the link.

I don't have a link for you but if you either go through the owners gallery or do a search on stripes you should come up with some pics. Most of the people I've seen with factory stripes seem to angle the rear ones rather than run them straight down.

I might put boot stripes on also. If I do I will order them from the dealer, or from Classic MINI (they are a sponser here and sell parts slightsly over cost.) You can get stripes from http://www.cooperflags.com or from http://www.outmotoring.com

These I think are stock, but not sure.

These are aftermarket.

My stripes.

A friend's stripes.
Here's a link with more detail.

I've put four sets on various MINIs and I'm fond of following the angle of the boot lid - see the pics for what I mean. Then you have the choice of removing the badge or cutting around it.

I think they've got to go under the badge. Looks silly cutting around it.

I got mine from cooperflags.com, put them on myself. I'll try to post a clearer pic when I get a chance...

Stripes how-to

Wow. GREAT pictoral how-to, SundanceKC! I was wondering about the letters. Could you be pursuaded to do a complete how-to write up for us novices? I can tell by the photos that you are using tricks that they don't tell us about in the stripe-company published how-tos. I need as many tips/tricks as I can get regarding successful positioning and use of the liquid. Also, for the letters, do you re-use the original adhesive, or replace it?

Thanks in advance!
