Hello,
According to your picture, the tail light/brake light is a W5W? (#7)
Just wanted to make sure that was accurate. That bulb needs to be a double filiment doesnt it?
And thanks again for the Bulb guide.

You're correct. It is P21W. Bulb #7, #8, #9 are all P21W...

I just updated.

Thanks a lot!!!

Load resistors

Are load resistors necessary for this mod?

My tail lights are smoked and I'm considering a 5- or even a 7-watt LED for my brake lights. Perhaps, combined with a pulser.

r56 Leds

Which vendor(s) did you get them from, will the bulb warning go on when you replace the tail lights? Mine are all just going so I would like to replace the ones on my R56 MCS instead of getting incandescent ones.

Are there more interior bulbs in a 2011+ R56?

Checking out Coopersport/Bimmian and their kits indicate R55/R56 2007-2010 have 13 bulbs, 2011+ R55/R56 have 15 bulbs. 13 bulbs looks correct for an R55 but where do the extra 2 bulbs go I wonder?

Thanks for posting the reference list. I was shocked (ish) to see that my owner's manual had it wrong. It listed a W5W for the brake/tail lamp.

Nevermind - I didn't realize the 2011+ cars have two extra interior lamps on the ceiling for rear passengers I assume.

Has anyone figured out what bulbs are used in the sun visors? They are so yellow they are almost orange - and practically useless.

according to the PDF the R56 license plate bulbs are 6411 but I just bought some and they are 1/4" longer than the oem and don't fit... any idea what the true size is?

#### just found out the real size of the license plate bulb on R56 is C5W ####

I agree C5W is what is on my 2007 MCS . Just pulled the two bulbs out and looked at them. Having the error message light bulb with exclamation point ! the last couple of days and at first could not find a exterior bulb out till looked closely and license plate .

Picked up some bulbs at my local auto parts store paid $2.90 for 2 bulbs . GE Standard 12v (6418) C5W/BP2 . I believe the C5W is the C for size and 5W stands for 5 watts.

I made a list of light bulb types for R55 and R56 with pictures. Lamp replacement guide from Sylavania.com is so confusing and sometimes shows wrong bulb type(like 9003 for Mini cooper clubman headlight!!).

This list explains how many bulbs and what type of bulbs are installed in our Mini.
Let me know if there is any error on the list.

LED is the light of the future. It will replace our headlight soon^^

Thanks for this!!

Just send this to a friend is that ok?

I realize this is an old post. But I thought I'd add that for 2013 I used 11 w5w/194 LEDs for my interior. $10 from eBay. You don't need CANBUS LEDs for the interior. I did not bother to swap the glovebox.

Not sure where more bulbs could possibly go..

Sylvania bulb 7506 for r56 rear turn signal is better choice

Dude you are a good and decent human being! Thanks for putting in the effort. Sylvania's web site does indeed bit the big gherkin.

For the REAR Turn signals on R56, the Sylvania 7506 (clear bulb) fits better into the socket than the 7507 (yellow bulb). They also give slightly different light, but its subtle.

7506 is a better choice.

Much appreciated.
