Carbon fiber laminating done... for now

Well after almost 2 months with this project, I can say it is close to 100%. Still need to finish off one vent ring tonight. I laminated my existing trim pieces with 2x2 twill carbon fiber. LOTS of sanding and polishing and now I've got some serious forearms .

I was going to do the down tubes , but I didn't have time (we have our first rally this weekend!!) so I improvised and painted them red along with some other parts to complement them. Love it or hate it... I'm going to move on to the exterior next with and aero kit and a new hood scoop.

Figured I would share these photos with the community.

Superrx it's exterior is Dark Silver and I chose the red because the front calipers were red already and any other color wouldn't have stood out as well?? (and it's the color my wife said she liked best of all I was looking at)

I got the JCW sticker off Ebay and thought it would give it the OEM look. But after all the work put into it, maybe I should have just dished out the bucks for OEM. This only cost me $200 in materials, so I guess my time was free... .

i realize im reviving a dead thread, but you can buy cf cloth at a good price at soller composites, and they also sell cf cloth tubes, perfect for doing the down tubes as it would leave no seam.
