Plasti-Dip for blackouts

Well...just finished blacking out the headlight rings, tailight rings, and grill surround with the ever-popular plasti-dip. My only complaint is that there is no gloss to it whatsoever. It perfectly matches the side skirt and textured trim though. And it was so friggin easy (thanks to tutorial on page 2 of this forum). If they made this stuff in a gloss finish i would be a happy camper. Because of the texture you can't really wax it either. I love the look (but would love it more w/ a lil shine)and for the price ($7.74!) you can't beat it.

Not sure if I'll keep it or spend the few hundred $$$ to go with glossy vinyl wrap. Has anyone tried painting over plast-dip?

There is no reason to paint over the plasti-dip as you can just peel it right off if you no longer want it on there and your chrome pieces will be like new again.

I know that...but I'm thinking if I paint over the plasti-dip it might be less likely to chip over time or atleast the chips won't show as much. haven't quite figured out what i wanna do...I'll prob let it alone a week or so and see if it grows on me
