Hello from L.A. (and question about carbon fiber)!

Just making a first post here.

Hello! I just bought my first Mini Cooper S last month and I love it! I'm planning on doing a carbon fiber look to the rooftop of my Cooper, having been inspired by others on this board to do my own checkered flag look. I want to do it with carbon fiber, instead of just the black and white look. Any one have any good tips on doing this on my own? I've been compiling videos on how to wrap, etc. and I've bookmarked a thread here from another Cooper owner making the checkered flag design on his car, but I want to make sure that I get this right, and to get a good price and material for the carbon fiber.

Thanks!

It's a 2010, and yes I have a sunroof. I was thinking I might not do the checkered part on the sunroof, just the surrounding area.

Cool. Sounds like a fun idea, and definitely original!

Let's get you to the right spot where you might get an answer. If you search for "dry carbon fiber", you'll find some answers for where to get material.

I'd be happy to give you some tips (I own a small graphic design firm, and have been doing vehicle graphics for over 10 years). Send me a PM if you like. Also, I happen to have some 3M Di-Noc in stock (best looking carbon fiber vinyl on the market). Let me know. Oh, and welcome!
