relocating factory driving lights

Hello all!

Just about to remove my factory driving lights to plastidip them and thought, since I was going to go through the trouble of removing them, why not mount them in the lower grill?

Just curious if anyone else has done this with the factory lights. I've seen it done plenty with the light bar, but I don't think thats my style.

Post pics if you got 'em, and I'll post mine when im done!

That's clean, did you make little brackets for each of the lights?

No brackets-just a single aluminum plate cut to fit underneath the fascia with 4 holes drilled in it. It ties all the lights together; they do rock a little but work well.

oh ok, so you drilled holes in the lower black plastic on the bumper, i see it now. I couldn't tell if you had the wires running from underneath or from behind the grills. thanks!

Yes, they are mounted to the bottom of the alum bumper brace.
Not actually factory MINI lights, though they may work as well..
At the time I hadn't seen it done and thought I'd be different..

Well that is just sweet! I hope you don't mind if I "borrow" some of your ideas because you've inspired me!
I won't if you disapprove....

THAT is a really clean install N2MINI!! I'm impressed with how "stealth" it looks.

Thanks jbkone,

It was pretty easy. Just have to have thin lights as you only have about
2-1/2'' or so of space down there to play with..

Pretty easy. I've actually done it twice and for some reason I did it quicker the first time. They had different brackets though.. Before taking bumper cover off get a couple of measurements for height and how far right and left of center you want them to appear in the lower grille area.. Mount brackets to bottom of alum bumper brace attach light and test fit bumper cover..Adjust as needed..
