Interior Question

The inside handles (not the door opening ones) on my '03 MCS are chipping and I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue, and if so what was done to fix it. I know there are leather covers out there that I could buy, I was also wondering if anyone has tried painting them, if so what kind of paint, and if you sanded them first or if just painting them was enough.
Thanks,
Wooley

The clear coat has peeled off of portions of my inside drivers side door. I am the second owner and she came to me like that. It is obvious that the drivers door has some kind of damage (no metal exposed as far as I can tell) on the outside edge but I wouldnt think that could cause the inside door to peel off clear coat (which is intact on the outside).

I am very interested in what others have to say about this issue.

You could just paint them, but it won't be even close to as nice as if you sand them first. I believe they're plasti-welded on to the door cards btw, so it'll take some effort to get them off. Sand, spray, dry, sand, spray, dry, sand, clear, sand, done. Or just vinyl wrap them. That's easier.
