Has anyone done this? Is there a solvent/release liquid I can use to dissolve/soften the glue underneath? I don't want to force/push it as it may peel some suface paint. I was planning to use the smallest guitar string to cut thru the adhesive as a last resort. I plan to install the aero tail. Thanks for any input.

 

Don't use a guitar string! I used fishing line and still damaged my paint. Mineral spirits will release the bond once you get it started. Patience is the key.....I didn't have enough. Search threads on JCW wing. It isn't too difficult.

 

I took mine off, used weed eater string, went very slow, warm day, no damage, I just wanted it gone... it is not glue, it is double sided tape.

Weren't there mounting holes left behind? I seem to remember that some of them had holes left.

 

Yeah, but I plan to put studs on the replacement aerotail so it will still be secured rather than depending only on double sided tape.
