Tint question

This may seem like a complete waste of a thread but its something I can't figure out. I tinted my Mini GP with llumar ATR charcoal tint and it has a very green hue to it. I assumed this was because of the glass but I just saw a picture of a tinted GP and the tint appeared very black but slightly blue. I hat the green does anyone know a lot about the different tint brands and which look more black/blue?

you definitely got some bad brand of tint... im not sure exactly what brands are more black/blue then others, but the greenish tint would definitely bug me. i picked up some tint from an autozone store for a little project, and it has a reddish pink tint to it...

I have Llumar film on my MINI, just the standard film. This is my third time using Llumar and I haven never seen any color hue to the tint. Very neutral. I've chosen Llumar because it has the best optic properties. I would guess that you either got bad film or bad adhesive, but Llumar is a good product, for the most part

Yeah, I'd definitely say you got a bad batch of tint. Did you do the tint job yourself? If not, take it back to the installer. If not, I'd say just start over with a different brand.

It was done by a mobile tint installer a while ago. I'm asking because I just got an X5 35d and want to tint it and make sure its just black not green or other color hue etc. I'm thinking of trying Solargard.

the first time my MINI was tinted, it had a green/SLIGHT mirrorish looking hue to it, and it was noticeable since my MINI is jetblack. i didnt like it. im not sure what brand but i think it was 3M tint. i took it to my tint guy that i always go to, and he uses llumar(not sure what model though) and all cars ive tinted there are pitch black tint.

so llumar isnt bad, might just be that style of tint you got, or could be bad as some stated. id go back to the shop and check with them.

edit- just noticed ur in south florida. PM me where ur at. maybe u can go to my tint guy lol

I use Chico's tint shop on 441 and countyline. Great work and great prices. One of the installers used to have sick *** MINI too, but he sold it a couple of months ago.
