Did anyone actually get to purchase an alta light bar on clearance?

I put in an order for the alta light bar because I have been wanting one for awhile and they were having a sale. however, i got two emails from alta saying that they would be delaying my order and then another that they were canceling my order because the item is discontinued. which leaves me a little upset. i was SO excited to finally be able to get a light bar, just to have the rug pulled out from under me! my question is did anyone actually get to purchase one and get it shipped to them? and my next question is would anyone like to sell theirs?

alta did the same thing with me and many other NAMers on there last big sale. They discountinued many of the R53 products or did not follow threw the prices they had given. I know outmotoring.com has a similar light bar kit. I think that if you really want it I'm sure other venders that sell alta products might have a couple in stock. I got one and I love it. Everyone has given great compliments on it.

Look at the bright side. Since you didn't end up actually buying anything from ALTA, you won't be joining the long list of unsatisfied customers they have.

I ordered one, and it's on it's way as we speak! Also picked up a short shifter. Wicked excited to get my items.

I don't know why they would discontinue this item, everyone seems to have one or want one. I hope the R53 aftermarket isn't dying off.

But if you really want one, keep watching the marketplace. I'm sure one will turn up.

I am sorry you feel like ALTA did something wrong here. This was a clearance item and we sold them at the clearance price until all were sold out. We had approximately 20 bars at clearance price and when they sold out (over the weekend) we emailed/refunded the people that we could not supply them with. How is this wrong?

I can understand that things get sold out and orders are first come first serve. I am disappointed that my question has gone unanswered and that you decided that you needed to take this conversation from private messages to the forum.

Since you are going there ussmale Christina DID answer your email. She emailed you ...

Good afternoon!
Unfortunately, the item you recently ordered- AMP-ETR-105, the rally light bar has been discontinued and all of them were gone before being able to fill your order. We will process paperwork for your refund to your credit card / PayPal account and, depending on your bank, you should see that credit at the beginning / middle of next week.
I'm so sorry for the inconvenience, please let me know if there's anything else we can help you with!

And you replied....
Hello Christina,
I have a couple of questions regarding my order. First, how is it that the rule for clearences items, "all sales are final", only applies when convenient for you? Second, if you have cancelled my order due to a discontinued product why do you still continue to sell your light bar on your website, even right now?
Dissapointed,

And she replied....

Actually Sir, thanks for letting me know that the light bar with lights is still on the website- it shouldn't be! We'll have that taken down ASAP.
Please let me know if I can help you with anything else now, or how I can help you in the future! Have a great New Year!

What question went unanswered? The comment about our sale policy? It was a CLEARANCE item that we sold out of. I am not sure what more we could have done here.

I am glad you think it is ok to publicly post emails between myself and your customer service rep. CLASSY

btw you still did not answer my question about the sales policy. so I will ask you a third time. why is "all sales are final" only valid when convenient for you?

thanks!

You said we did not reply to your email, when we did. You have accused us of poor service on a public forum and I am replying to that accusation. I took your real name out of the email to protect your privacy. About your "sale", what should we have done ussmale? I am not here to argue at all..but seriously if something is on clearance and we run out, what is to be done with your order?

1. thanks for taking my name out (after the fact). still, not a good move posting customer correspondence emails...just poor form

2. I didn't accuse you of not replying to the email. I am just trying to get my question answered. I will answer your question with a question. What would you have done if I ordered the light bar and you had it then I ran out of money after you had shipped the light bar and tried to return it?

Guys. Seriously.

RESPECT
When posting, both members and vendors must ALWAYS be respectful of fellow members and vendors. Personal attacks, trolling/baiting, deliberate antagonizing, and flaming will not be tolerated. If you feel you are being attacked, report the post or private message rather than replying or flaming back. However, do not use the report bad post feature to "cry wolf" when you are in fact the instigator of the demise of a discussion. Doing so will result in an infraction or strike.
ussmale, your question was asked and answered - did anyone manage to get a bar on clearance. Yes, a few people posted they did. It appears about 20 were available and sold. This situation is no different than something being advertised in a news circular ad at Best Buy on clearance, and you go in and there are none left. The difference here is, because it's online, you pay up and then are refunded.

I can understand being disappointed. I don't understand attacking the vendor for selling out of a clearance item - that is exactly what "clearance" sales are for.

UMM...What?? Sorry your question makes no sense. Basically If you order a clearance item and it gets shipped to you the sale is final. no return. If you order something on the website and its on a clearance sale and we run out, you get your money back. If you purchase something on the website that is NOT on clearance and we simply ran out we will email you and tell you that and give you the option to either cancel the order, or wait until we get more. Make sense? Asking the question ""First, how is it that the rule for clearences items, "all sales are final", only applies when convenient for you?"" makes it sound like you were just mad we ran out of lightbars. I am sorry sorry sorry we don't have any left! I don't know what else to say.
