I have a pair of chrome headlight and taillight bezels that i want to paint. I have the chili red spray can from minspeed. I was jus wondering if there is any prep work i should do on the chrome bezels before i paint them?

I would suggest sanding the chrome so that there is a better bond and clear coat them when you are done. Also why don't you buy the ones from Minspeed and send your chromes back so that you will get a better quality product?

I wasn't trying to pay the 225 for them and i figured it will be a fairly simple DIY if the paint matches well. Thanks for the info. Is there any specific sand paper to use or it doesnt really matter?

I would look at between 800 grit and 1400 grit. And I forgot to mention you might want to get some kind of cleaner that will take off the dirt and excess wax and other build up before you sand it. Heck you could just wash it with dish soap. The biggest thing in painting is to take your time and be very very patient

I have used Duplicolor Prep Spray as a cleaner then Duplicolor Adhesion Promoter as primer with very good results (available in many auto parts stores).

Watch your re-coat times. Minispeed is enamel and most enamel must be recoated within 1 hour or wait five days.
I re-coat at 20 minutes - two light coats and then a wet coat. Good stuff here

Results

Thanks for the help guys here are some pics of the results. I think they came out pretty good but not perfect because I kind of rushed it lol.
When I look closely the paint has small bumps I'm not sure what its from maybe dirt or dust. I might take them off and sand them down and apply another layer of clear. any ideas?
