theoretical question about window tint
Is it possible to scrape away all those little dots around the rear windows before a tint job so that the window becomes a uniform darkness, as seen from the outside, instead of lightened over those bumps? I don't have any photos, but every single tinted MINI has this effect. This is honestly one of the main reasons I'm opposed to getting tint, in addition to iridescent patterns observable with my polarized sunglasses.
If you get a really good tint guy they can push through into the spaces between the bumps. I hate that too but when i got mine done the guy was able to make that lightened area almost disappear. Its all in how hard they want to work with the squeegie
I've wondered this too. When I first got my tints done, the dots were noticeable but at least they were even. It seemed to become more apparent over time, granted I didn't get the best tint job in town. I almost need to get it redone now. It would be nice if I could just get rid of those dots the second time around.
