Partsman: since i don't have a Bridgeport, would a router work? How much material do you have to remove to open the grille--1/16", 1/8"?
thanks,
If you remove the grille and look at the back side, you will see how much it's raised compared to edge or "flange" that goes all the way around the grille. If you remove enough so that it is completely flat, you will be very close to having the holes open.

In the end, it will be roughly as thick as the edge or flange that goes all the way around the grille.
I will try to post pics of the grille out of the car, so everyone can see what i'm talking about.
Ooooooooooo..... that's sexay. that is WHAT I NEED for Blimey - GP rear trim... never even thought about it before... but it rocks....
Thanks Blimey...I love the subtleness of it.

PS you haven't commented on my CF dash...do you not approve?
haha
Sorry about that...I think your dash and down tubes look incredible! I saw the pics on MU...it looks very, very clean and professional. You did an awesome job!
BTW...nice passenger side parcel shelf you have there!
Thanks for the compliments...we'll talk soon.

I think so too...my car will never have stripes again. What a royal pain in the a$$ removing them. They look cool when they are new and shiny, but when they get old and faded they look like crap.
Partsman: I LOVE those wheels! I know you're going to tell me they are some special R56 style that no one has seen...but really, they look fantastic! I don't recall seeing them on your car before, but perhaps they are not "brand new" like your cool GP rear end.
The car looks clean, and a real joy for those who love details--it's loaded with the little things that make each Mini so unique, and some, so special.
and thanks to Joaquin, I got the total full-width Euro parcel shelf look. It's quite practical actually, and keeps the interior looking simple and clean--very much in keeping with the spartan look of the original Mini.
I got the GP trim in also and installed. I really like the way it goes with the aero kit. Looks good on the rear. I'll try to get some pics posted but I need time to wash the car again since it just lightly rained and now it's dirty.
Paul, If I can ever get back to a Tarheel event in the triangle you can see the trim for yourself. It's been over a year. Need to work on that. I bet you will not even remember me LOL.
Hey J, if I had a belt sander this would be at the top of my list.....love those new rear black trim pieces - they look hot !
Thanks Dave...I suppose you could use a hand held, but it would take some time. I'll try to give you a call later.

Thanks very much, Phil.
Crazy story about the wheels...I was looking on the UK wheel websites for something different and found them from a company called Wolfrace.
After calling several different distributors over there, I could not find any with just the single 4x100 fitment, they were all dual with 4x108. Not being a fan of dual fitment wheels(too much material removed from the most important part of the wheel)...I decided to look over here and found them on eBay under the name BSA model 335 for $168.00 plus $100 shipping.

Dr Phil, Nice wrap job. it looks great in the pics, but are you happy with it up close? I mean the feel/texture of it? I have only seen this stuff in pics.
Also, I gotta agree with you on those wheels, very nice look Partsman, good price too.
Looks great! R56 exhaust? Thats awesomeWas it an easy mod to do once you got the battery box out of the way? The GP piece looks great, I might have to do that...

You can PM DrPhil...that's his car, and I can't remember the name of the member we contacted in the UK to get it.

Thanks very much...and yes, my exhaust is a combination of the R53 JCW resonator front pipe and the R56 MCS muffler. The tail pipes on the muffler need to be shortened and you will need a sleeve to connect the two slightly different size pipes together...other than that, it's a pretty easy mod. http://www.motoringunderground.com/f...ad.php?t=15848
