Plastic Gauge Covers

Anyone know how to clean/remove scratches and tape smudges from the clear plastic gauge covers? I thought you could just order new covers, but the tach and speedometer are sold as whole units, which is pretty expensive. I don't understand why you just can't get the covers, but if anyone can help me clean them, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

I used Sonus Final Finish Polish on my GFs corolla's plastic cluster lense. worked like a charm. Any fine polish should do it... just want to keep it fine so that it smooths out instead of 'sanding' it

Toothpaste with silica will polish plastic fairly well, but you'd have to hold the tach under the tap to rinse it off.

There are a number of good plastic polishes. Check out the Detailing 101 forum.
