I recently got one and here is a quick review:

The GOOD:
1. The price is right. Since it's so reasonable, I decided to take the chance.
2. Service was great. I received the item in the color I specified in a reasonable amount of time with no surprises.
3. The cigarette lighter looks pretty good. I got the silver one, and it nicely complements the chrome trim in my MINI. The MINI logo is the official one, and is small but nice.

The BAD:
1. It doesn't fit! This lighter would probably fit in a standard car lighter socket, but is too long and slightly too wide to fit completely into the socket in the MINI, and as a result it will not operate. It will fit in far enough to stay in place, and still looks okay, but protrudes a little bit too much for my liking.

The **** part with the logo unscrews from the base of the unit, so I am working on coming up with a way to use this **** (which I like) on the base unit of the factory lighter (which fits in the socket). I will post instructions if I can figure out how to do this. It really is a nice looking **** so I hope it works out.

Also, it is not designed to light up the logo in the ****, but I would not consider this a negative since I didn't expect it.

Hope this helps.

Where can I get covers for the power socket? I don't smoke and don't need the lighter, so I want to cover the socket. The boot socket cover is not ideal either, since there is no hinge of tether keeping the cover attached to the socket when you're using it.

Have you checked out Radio Shack?

I picked up an additional 12 volt power outlet for the Roady, it came with a tethered cover. Might require you to remove the original and slip the tether on then reinstall. It's just a guess, I don't even know if the cover will fit the OEM outlet.

Good luck
