Gauge pod under toggle switches

Hi,

If anyone has one of these installed, could you shed some light on how to hold it in place or even if you have pics of it with what you held it down with and installed that would be great Also for where did you tap into the dash wiring for the light source to your gauge in that spot? Thanks in advance for your help

Are you talking about the OEM optional ones?

If so, you can get an installation guide from motoringfile.com I believe.

It's the one that sits under the toggle switches and behind the 2 centre cup holders

My gauge pod in that location draws power from the fuse box, I added a piggy back fuse and wire. The dimmer power comes from the cigarette lighter light. However, my gauges didn't dim. So I wired in some switches, I forget how, and now I have to manually flip a switch between the gauges to dim them, then when I restart the car I have to flip that and a power switch I also wired in. My pod is not attached in anyway, it just kind of sits down there and stays still.

I installed the gauges myself and did not like how they are supposed to be attached to the console. It looked like it would be near impossible to remove or replace the console not including just hooking up the gauges.

What I did was add some velcro on either side where the panel overlaps the existing console to hold it in place. Made it pretty easy to install or take out and it doesn't move at all.

Word.
The OEM install spec makes it a raging pain in the _ _ _ to remove the console.
So where did you put the velcro? On the inside edge of the gauge pod?
