Interior/Exterior Custom rear strut bar

Custom rear strut bar
Building a rear strut bar to replace the rear seats and act as place to put a camera mount and racing harness. I have been thinking about doing a RSB for awhile but recently a good friend of mine who is putting together a cycle race asked if I would be the pace car/camera car for the event which gave me the perfect excuse to actually get it done. Its not finished yet, pretty much just roughed together, but it's coming along well. Let me know what you think, sorry for the shitty pictures:
Decided to use the old headrests as backrests, works pretty well.

Made this strut tower brace/harness bar for my three sons to sit across the back of my 2005 R50, 10+ years ago. Used it for front seats during autoX to keep my *** in the seat too(with rear seat folded down of course). The bar could be put in tension, the rear seat still be used too. Currently being used by this R56 S owner.

If you look at a picture of the sheet metal structure behind the latches for the rear seatbacks, you will immediately see that there isn't much structural strength there and it will not provide any lateral rigidity. Nor is it an appropriate place for attaching a harness bar. I was thinking about various bars or trusses using the rear seat latch mounting points and the rear seatbelt latch mounting point until I figured out what was actually underneath.

Craven has a camera mount that goes on the passenger seat headrest. I built a much less elegant solution with some aluminum square tubing and a couple of J hooks.
