I know it is juat a simple design and i had the block cut as i think cutting straight is more difficult than curves, but here is mine i did last night. it is very easy to apply any graphic to a car, just as long as you have everything you need to do it.

If i were you i'd buy a big sheet of vinyl and do the graphics self. Sheets here is fairly cheap so i can't see why it should be different there by you.

you should give Lyle with Vinyl Styles a call - he could probably cut and print the vinyl for you and ship it out here (hes in Cali), and if needed i may be able to help you - im on Long Island.

i went to a few sign shops and they wanted over $350 to install my stripes....what a load of #$!@, so i obviously waited until Lyle could do it for me, but we arent all that fortunate.

where in the NYC area are you?

It is a beautiful design and should be extremely reasonable if you supply the illustrator file which is what any cutter will want. Anyone with a 48" cutter (cuts 46 inches wide) and the colors you want should do it easily. I if you supply the file and they have the cutter it should take 10 minutes of actual setup, they can walk away as it cuts, and then another 10-15 minutes to mask it for application.

But don't underestimate how nuanced the install will be. You should look for a place that not only has the cutter but experience with trucks and race cars to help you and give you advice. You really don't want them to have to cut it 2 (or three) times.

That said I am just a bit south of you and hope to see you on the road someday as the design is spectacular and will really turn heads.

And of course when it's done we want to see pictures here.

Rich

Has anyone ever tried this place?

They have some stripes I would like to use on my Yellow Clubman when it arrives.

Somewhat a Working Prototype

Hi Miss Moxie, I looove your design. It looks somewhat like mine. I opted for lasercut plexiglass for a 3 dimensional look. Check out my gallery:

By the way, how do you guys post images directly in your posts?

Thanks so much! Your graphics are awesome. Hot color combo

I've actually scrapped that idea for my car. I just had black and pink viper stripes put on and soon I'm hoping to shadow my tattoo onto the sides of the car. I should actually mock-up that design like I did those old ones... sounds like a project for this weekend!

Just poking this thread out of curiousity.

I've been looking to do custom graphics for my MINI and I wanted to know if any of you have the vector outline of a MINI for me to test overlaying my designs? I've already picked up some rolls of vinyl for application and I plan on hand-cutting them.

Also, I really like your designs, Moxie.

What file format do you need it in?? EPS, CDR
PM me with your e mail address and I'll send what I have to you...

My file of it does not show the scoop for some reason but you can draw that in yourself...

I know this is an old thread but for others wanting to do something like what MissMoxie did..
Your art needs to be in a Vector type file in order to cut it out of vinyl. You can't just find a cool pic off of goggle seach and get it cut. Probably could have it printed and if it is multi-colored it probably needs to be to keep from having a lot of layers of vinyl on top of each other.. Granted printing is going to cost more the cut vinyl usually, but will give a cleaner/smoother look. If only doing 1 or 2 colors that overlap each other then cut vinyl is fine or if the colors don't over lap anywhere you can do as many colors as you want of course..

Not sure why her vinyl places were wanting to charge so much other then maybe they would going to have to sit down an redraw her art work in order for it to be in a format that they could cut.. Sounds easy enough and "usually" is not too bad, but it is time consuming and depending on the customer can be a pain going back and forth doing redraws to get it just right for them... It is easier for the shop to start off with their own art then to have to try to copy someone elses...

Each case is different... Just some of the things I have run into cutting vinyl for my local MINI friends...
