Best pic I could find of mine. No close-ups unfortunately. It's the outmotoring one. Nice and short but still great reception

The only time I've ever lost a topper was when some low-life STOLE my 8-ball while I was parked in Chi-town for MTTS. Those suckers hang on pretty good otherwise. My pumpkin has been whippin' along since the first of October. Judging by the weather this morning, though (SNOW!!) it's time to bust out a more seasonally appropriate one.

Tip: Happy ***** are super cute and stay on good, but they fade really quick. Unless! I soaked this one with 303 protectant the night before I put it on and it looks good as new, still.

Yah mine is black. I'm not sure on the availability of the aluminum. You might want to email them and ask. Their site shows pictures of an aluminum one, but it doesnt appear in the drop down menu

Great Been working on some custom machined mounts to get it a few inches lower. It's been riding very smooth though

For those of you that have stubbies...

Is it worth spending $25 or $30 on an outmotoring or alta stubby antenna or should i just buy a cheap $10 off ebay? They look almost the same to me.

They'll probably perform the same....just make sure they come with the correct type of threading so that they fit.

I have a used, K40, 4'-0" long, stainless steel, CB antenna that may look nice on a MINI. It'll even whip around a little. Can be installed with the huge 6" magnet or broken down into a permanent install via a 3/4" hole in yur roof. It also has a twist lock connector and raincap so that you can a) Remove and tuck it away in the MINI so it doesn't get stolen; b) Remove it to the house and have only a small bump on yur roof (1/4 the height of a stubby); or c) grab it if yur getting mugged in the parking lot and whip that criminal into submission. Note: Doesn't come with a CB cuz I stopped buying those 10 years ago.

I removed my antenna completely. I primarily listen to Sirius which is uneffected by the antenna stick. I still get all the FM stations I'm interested in. I rarely listen to AM, except a local news station, and that station comes in OK, not great but OK. Again, personal choices!!!

Is it a real one retrofitted or is it one of those fake stick-on plastic things?

I was looking at other cars today on the drive into work, is it me, or do a lot of the newer cars not even have antennas?

Back to antennas please. Especially the nice, long, whippy ones.
Is this one whippy enough?

I like mine

I was gunna just make it flush w/ the roof since I was plasti-dipping the roof, but it wasn't as nice as I wanted it to look, so i figured a circle was better than an odd looking rough spot

EDIT: I have a noticeably weaker reception b/c I removed everything including the little chip housed in there. but it still works in the city, but as soon as I head outta town it's gone. but I only listen to CDs anyways
