Interior/Exterior Blacking out gauges
Blacking out gauges
So i am about to invest in some prosport gauges, (just got my alta dual gauge pod) and really enjoyed the fact that when they are off, they are just blacked out, and when they are on the amber matches the stock amber on the cooper. I was looking to do the same thing with the stock tach and speedo. I have seen the threads on getting stickers basically to change the faces from white to black, but i didnt know if anyone had some idea on just blacking the gauges out, so that like the prosport, when the gauge is off, it's fully blacked out. And as much as possible make it look stock, so same brightness level if possible (probably staying away from tinting the gauge glass), and same glossy look.
Anyone have some thoughts or ideas?

Well, it looks like the prosport gauges are black faced with a mildly tinted lens, and always lit with bright LEDs no matter the time of day. Since there are custom gauge face makers, it wouldn't be hard to make one that was just black with the number cutouts. Also it'd be easy to just tint the covers lightly. The problem is, I don't think the lighting on the stock gauges are bright enough to be visible in direct sunlight, so upgrading the LEDs would be the hard part.
try this
any color you want, not all blacked out, but black, with white letters in the day and black with amber at night
