Rear Tow Hook Cover Busted on New Car

So since day 1 of ownership (this past Sat.), the rear tow hook cover has been dangling from the little elastic band. After popping it in, it just falls out again after driving.

I don't really want to waste gas and time going to the dealer again, so should I:

a. buy a tow hook like the outmotoring one which may also protect my rear bumper from idiots (but may look weird). Any pics of something like this?

b. use some adhesive and glue it in.

c. suck it up and go back to the dealer.

Thanks!

d.

call the dealer, have them order you one, and when it shows up they can send it to you in the mail. But for this to work you have to make sure it's the cover and not the bumper cover. If it's the bumper cover, then it's a dealer visit for sure. But then, you may be able to convince then that it's the cover with digital photos and e-mail and they can call you when the cover is in stock, so you don't have to make two trips.

I had exactly the same problem...it was hanging down when I first brought the car home and would fall out every time I put it back...even if I just bumped the area with my hand. Fortunately I had to drive near the dealer anyway and stopped in....the service writer had a bunch of the covers in his desk. He rummaged around and found one to match my car and put it on......took all of 2 minutes...didn't even write it up. If I had to deal with the problem myself I had planned to put a couple of drops of glue on it, figuring I'd probably never use the tow hook anyway, or if I did I could break the glue. On the other hand, if your dealer is some distance away, the previous suggestion of doing it by mail makes a lot of sense.

Thanks for the great suggestions! I'll give the dealer a call tomorrow and offer to send pics. Hopefully I won't have to pay them a visit.

^ do you need it because your cover won't stay in place?

honestly, i looked at the cover hanging off, pulled a little bit out on the tab that keeps the cover on the bumper, stuck it back in... 1300 miles later and it's still on.
