Not too big on chrome...

Well, this is my first time whoring pics on NAM...I didn't realize until now that there is not a dedicated forum to posting pics. I figured this was the most logical place to put this...

I've just been up to some dechroming is all...

This is the R56 section. Nice MINI though.

I fully dechromed as well. The only chrome I have is on the front and rear center badges and the exhaust tips.. If you want to go a bit further, remove the R53 (I debadged the CooperS) and replace the side vents with the black Cooper side vents. Also, the black trimline license frame would finish yours off nicely.

Oops, sorry I end up here all the time when browsing because I'm only looking at the actual forum title instead of reading the 2nd gen part...if a mod would move this to the 1st gen side

lhoboy - I haven't fully made up my mind on the R53 badge, I got it as a test...and I'm not fully feeling it, I probably will take it off. And as for the sidemarkers, I'm wondering if the chrome can be removed in the same fashion I did with the tail lights, ie using alcohol. I'm probably going to be trying it here soon...then I can still have the S but not all the chrome around it. Door handles and gas cap...haven't made up my mind yet, wouldn't mind a "brushed" gas cap though. Headlight rings will be color matched

Let me know how the dechroming goes. I may want to try that as well.

I totally forgot about the chrome cap. Doesn't stick out too much on a Pure Silver, but I have been hoping someone comes up with a bolt-on similar to this in a brushed surface:
