Spent like 6 fricking hours today just to swap out a chrome door handle for a laser blue handle on the Mini Cooper.
That has got to be the #1 most PITA DIY I have ever done before.
And that's 6 hours for just 1 side (was too exhausted to do the passenger side today).

So many things went wrong... like I couldn't find certain screws (took me about 30 minutes to find one that was hiding behind a rubber strap)... my 1/4" ratchet broke so it made things go sooooo slow working in that super cramped space... the door button fell off since a green tab popped out and I spent another hour taking apart what I just put back... spent at least over an hour working on it lying on my back... my hands are all cut up everywhere...

Also, part of the extra time was added since I was also sticking on some sound insulation (This FatMat is pretty nice... just as good as Dynamat Xtreme, but a lot cheaper).

Other side DIY coming next week. Now I know what to look out for and where to be careful.
At least... after this... my dechroming project is finally over on the Mini.
Still... couldn't have done it without amazingrando and onionjello's DIY write-ups. Thanks guys!

Lyle did mine the last time he did a tour here in NY. After watching him do it I still wouldn't want to tackle that.

Sorry to hear about the difficult install gmhl. I can't wait to see how those bad boys look.

If we can get a number of door handle installs together, we'd be glad to make a trip out!

Not your fault that it took me longer than expected...
But at least I know what to look out for this next time around.
Great vinyl wrapped you guys sell though. I love mine.

Lyle when you going to be coming back to NY - I have a bunch of friends who saw your work on my car and want you back here! Thanks again!

Have them contact myself, or Benji, and we'll see if we can put somethin' together.
