I removed my rear seats last nite and found a ring with a cable on it,I pulled it and it released the rear hatch.I thought I read in here that this cable did not exist.I also removed the seat belt buckles,1 torx bolt that's it.I also reas in here that the buckles were not removable. My MCS is a Jan 03 build.I am in the process of building a flat floor.

02 models did not have the release. Our MCS is an 03 model built in October of 02 and we have the pull ring. I had not heard anything about the non-removal of the rear seat belts, but imagine those have to be removable in case they are defective, damaged or are subject to a recall. Flat floor sounds cool. Will you make it removable to access the void underneath?

Better yet, please post pics throughout the process - including the final product!

I second that motion. I'll be getting an MCS when my previous car is gone and my boyfriend already suggested the idea of removing the back seats to get a flatter cargo area. I have to admit I'm not exactly sure I'm up for that. We'll see.

Pics during and after the process would be great! Good luck with your project.
