I agree...the thought of taking off the emblems on a Mini or any car for that matter is just plain stupid.Do you really think it would make your car look that much differant,of course thats after you have to fill the holes and have the whole body panel repainted if you wanted it to look right. It's your car and you can make that decision but don't exspect BMW or anybody else to ever notice or care ...and in the off chance they do notice...the next question you'll hear is..."Why the hell would you do that?"...It's just plain a lame idea

hahahah

addressing the De-badging...

Hot rodders debadge their chevy's and fords all the time.. so why is it a lame idea?

I do think the badge-free mini looks sweet... smooth and clean...

Now it just needs the doors shaved!

Back from the dead!

I just took the COOPER S off the back of my car. And was hoping to do the Mini Badges as well. But holes are holes, so I guess they stay.

Hay if anyone wants to DE-BADGE the "C" "O" "O" "P" "E" "R" & "S"
PLEASE ... if your REALLY MAD put it in an envelope and send it to me !

I have some dastardly plans for it.

I'll even pay the government or one of the big coporate shippers to help you get rid if them.

I know this is an old post but....

Its the details that count. Making a bunch of small mods will add up and make a big difference. It won't be something that everyone on the street notices, but its something that will make a difference. And if you enter any REAL car enthusiast group you will meet people who DO CARE. I can find you thousands of people who would care....go to any VW show where shaving things is VERY common. Where did you get the idea that no one cares? And you wont hear "why would you do that" because they all know, unnecessary badges such as that MAY ruin the smooth lines of a car.

If you dont see that a debadged boot is much smoother and cleaner looking than a badged one, you don't have the eye for THAT kind of style, but to put others down makes no sense. I have mine debadged along with other VERY subtle mods and you would be amazed how many people notice AND feel that it made the car look better.

I feel that you haven't witnessed enough of the car scenes out there to make judgements that "no one cares"....its just wrong.

I am also having the logos removed/filled in a couple of weeks when my boot and bonnet get repainted due to some paint damage that occurred from stripes.

Granted, shaving is subtlety but when it is part of a coordinated whole, it all adds up to a nice package. I think the car would also look great with the door handles, fuel filler and mirrors shaved. I haven't figured out where to put the mirrors though - somewhere up about the front pillar I suppose.

Well debadging is common among the car enthusiasts because it makes your car look much more clean and smooth and thus better. They tend to clutter up the boot and add unneccesary styling elements, so taking them off makes the car look better.

a long time ago, before many of you guys were here this site used to be called minicooperonline...or MCO. MINIUSA began to revoke the right to use the word 'mini cooper', many people were upset by this and thought it would be funny to do exactly what they said and took the badges off (since miniusa revoked MCO from us, they can have their cooper badges too mentality.)

Who else was still around during the MCO days? Our numbers seem to be dwindling

I think it would be neat to rebadge w/ an Austin Mini emblem
