Help please:
I want to swap the auto AC in one MINI with the manual AC in another. What needs to be changed besides the under-dash control unit? Is the auto AC temp sensor in the front of the headliner? Is there another sensor in the rear? Are the wiring harnesses in both cars the same??

Similar question:
I want to upgrade the sound in one Mini to the Harmon-Kardon option spec. In addition to the HK amp and speakers, does the head unit need to be swapped also? And again, are the sound system wiring harnesses in both cars going to be the same?

I know it sounds like lots of work, but without waiting months for a car built to spec I couldnt be too choosy about options. Now I'm trying to make mine like I would have ordered it.

The MINI master tech at the local dealer showed me why trying to replace the standard AC with climate control AC is a fool's errand. There is way too much to be changed to make such a swap worthwhile.

The HK question is now posted in the audio form.

The short answer for the stock radio to HK swap is nope for anyone that doesn't have the HK wiring harness preinstalled.
