Make my MINI faster!

I'm trying to figure out a way to make my mini faster without making it sound cheap, like japanese putt putts with loud coffee can intakes. any suggestion on a good, affordable, quiet intake and exhaust system? also, does anyone know of any long term effects of installing performance chips?

Kind of a genric question you have here . You have a R53 I imagine? First thing would be a SC reduction pulley. After that, I would advise just to go into the 1st generation driveline thread and start reading. Or find a good vendor close to where you are and give them a call . This would be a good place to start:http://www.customminishop.com/
