I have a MC and have gotten quotes from the dealer for a MCS hood. Its expensive. And with the exchange rate I could pick up a carbon hood for 1/3 the price. My main reason to change the hood is more clearance for my air filter, and the looks. Is there more clearance in the MCS hood?

And im putting a call out there for any CF hoods on an Astro Black Mini.

Man, I seriously want a CF hood. I think it would look sweet on my LY/B MC. I still can't get over the fit of it though. Someone seriously needs to fix that so there isn't the gap between the hood and the bumper.

xnotfunkylex, since I joined this forum i thought your mini was white. Woopsy Daisy.

I have noticed the gap on a few of them, but some seem to be flawless (in appearance). Worse comes to worse you take out a sander and some fibreglass, reshape the bonnet and paint the fixed parts.

Yes there is more clearance under the "S" bonnet then the JAC. I did it for my M7 STB.

CF is relatively cheap compared to a while ago...hoods used to be around 1000 now they're in the 600 range...

methinks the all carbon hood looks pretty bad, unless your MC is black. but the hoods that are just carbon down the middle....those are beautiful.

my MC is still bone stock, so i have no carbon hood pictures to post.
