Now all you need is to ahve them in the rear headrests, and then a huge flat panel monitor in the trunk. That will complete your waste of money/uselessness...LOL

Seriously, it looks nice...nice and clean. I will give it my 2 thumbs up...

Technically it isnt a total waste since my 14 month old sits back there everyday. she loves it, but then again any money put into a car is a waste becasue you never get any of it back.

I guess looking out a window can be over-stimulating for kids nowadays.

rocketboy and teldon,

Times have changed. Now a days people have everything they had at home in there car. when was the last time you seen someone without a cell phone. That is another item you can live without. But i know i will get people who think it is stupid to put tvs in the car, but that's what makes the world go round.

thanks d-mini-ero

I agree. To each their own. Personally, I like them. Waste of money? Yeah, but that's what makes the economy churn. If you can afford to do what you want, then do it! You live here once, that's it.

I like gadets and if you like it, its not a waste of money cause it makes you happy. I spent a lot to put TV in my NAV screen and I think your set up is awesome. To me performance mods are a waste of money. To each their own.

When was the last time you saw someone yakking on the cell phone you wished was paying attention to the road instead?

I have no problem with what people do for their cars that doesn't affect anyone else but I can't see how putting video monitors in a car can keep the driving environment as safe.

Apparently Saab was moving in the wrong direction when they were trying to develop a Heads-Up Display so drivers wouldn't even have to take their eyes off the road to read their instruments. They should have been working on putting the information in a news crawl at the bottom of a tv monitor.

Last Sunday's paper here in San Diego had an article about this subject.

Car TV News Article

In California it is illegal to watch TV in the car if you're driving!

I think it is illegal in all states to have the monitor (front) "on" while motoring.
I can remember 15 years ago how cool I felt with a Portable TV (size of a small suitcase) up in the front while I drove! That stupid thing used like 35 "d" cell batteries at a time

...Damn, now I feel old...

I think they look great and strongly suggest that anyone do whatever the heck they want to their cars, especially if the job looks so good!

Make me want to ride in the backseat of a MINI ! ! ! !

This sums up my concern.

"Federal officials have been concerned about high-tech toys in automobiles for some time. They estimate "driver distractions" cause about 20 to 30 percent of all crashes, and worry that the implementation of new devices is outstripping the ability to evaluate their safety."

Very Cool!! I think anything someone does to thier MINI to make it original is in the true spirit of MINI. Would love to see it in person.

I'm getting a bit tired of coming into these threads and seeing the negativity some of our members are churning out on the board. If someone wants to do something with thier money and their time and you don't have anything nice to say about it - move onto the next thread. Misery does love company. It amazes me how some people feel that it's thier duty to let someone know their opinion on something. This guy was trying to show off his work, not hear about a "waste of money" or how kids don't like looking out the window any more. Support your fellow Miniacs.

*end of rant*
