Chilli Red or P/White?

Well I'm away to place my order for a new Cooper Diesel tomorrow, but just need to decide whether it's going to be Chilli red and black or pepper white and black... It's not an easy decision, believe me!!!

I really like both combinations, but some people seem to think P/W is more a womans colour and the red is more a mans colour, or thats what i have been told...

I will be putting my new alloys that you can see on my mini one in my gallery and will eventually be getting an aero kit along with a load of other stuff like a Rear spoiler, JCW leather seats, front spot lights (maybe), lower the car, try and do the 'Joey mod' and try to see if I can get the blue dials job done on my car and then finally get it colour coded and get this all done on the Diesel.

Any opinions would be greatfully appreciated...

By the way I live in Scotland, before anyone is wondering how I am ordering a Cooper D.

First you might get a more of a response in the main forums

Second for me this question is very personal preference. I would get the red and black because I like colour. No offense to the Pepper patrol but IMHO white just so plain. I mean there are some good looking pepper white cars but they are not all kitted out like you are talking about.

But really with those wheels you need something to go with them like a black roof.

I like the white and black combo a LOT! Especially after seeing it in person a few times. I like red cars and bikes and whatnot...but I don't know why, I just love the way the MC looks in white with black roof and mirrors. I wish we could get the Cooper D here in the US :(

Hi! I love both colours. . . Check out these two forums: Peerage of the Pepper White and Chili Red Owners Club. Lots of people post pics of their mods, and it's amazing what those will do for making it "girly" or "butch"!
My own little PW/W is such a prissy looking thing with all her chrome, but there are some Pepper Whites with Joey mods, checks etc. that really trick them out! Overall, the impression I get is that reds are sporty and the pepper whites are classy.
Good luck with your choice, and have fun!

Chili Red with Black. My Clubman is that color and I'm picking it up Monday. I've waited 780 days for that car. It will be hard to believe I finally have it to drive. It is bee--yoo-ti--ful in red and very male. I had dark tint in the back windows and the legal 35% up front. This car is so pretty. I was thinking of Laser Blue or BRG, but the red just called out to me.
Hey, you could put plaid bonnet stripes on her. I've seen them, kind of nice.
I'm of Scottish heritage (MacLean) so happy to see you on this side of the pond.
Let us know what you decide.

Holly

CR or PW ?

Get one of each !!

Okay, seriously, here's my take.

CR is a great color, very vibrant and eye-catching when clean and shiny (which mine ALWAYS is ). It also looks great with either black or white roof.... or one that is both black AND white .

The downside is, it shows dirt, scratches, and swirls very easily.

PW is a classic color. It's easier to keep clean, hides the scratches and swirls very well, and is a little more rare than CR.

Downside to PW: Like any light color, it's not very reflective so it will never be as stunning as CR or a darker color.

There you go... from a guy that knows.

I own a PW MCS, overall, PW can be very dirty and from a distance look clean, I think more so than any other color. However, the back hatch is very difficult to keep clean. Also, small brown flecks show up (mostly on the hatch) that are difficult to remove. I believe they are on all MINIs, and I think are the result of small bits of metal on the roadways that are rust spots, but are visible only on the PW paint. By the way, I love PW, very classy. (But deep down I want a CR.)

Thanks for all the replies guys, well my order has now been placed (yesterday) for a.....

......Chili red/black Cooper D, and I should be getting it in 4 weeks time, so its going to be a very long 4 weeks for me!! Now need to start thinking about lowering springs, Aero front bumper and side skirts to go on car along with my alloys.

The biggest thing I'm going to miss with having a diesel will be the exhaust note seeing as I wont be able to fit a sports exhaust on it, like my One has at the moment, which sounds brilliant.

Once I get my car I will try and remember and join the Chili Red owners club.
