Sent an e-mail to them, let you know what comes of it. Worst case, I'll buy enough for one wheel, to check fitment.

Cool, Nate (gnaster) at motoringspeed does a lot of my OEM orders! I think he is a little busy, will wait till he returns from AMVIV. Would rather have OEM bolts cuz they're titanium.

Black Forest said their bolts won't work. Hopefully a dealer can help.

just a note... you MUST replace the bolts when doing this. we found out first hand this last weekend. not really an option and doing so without replacing is unsafe.

i just redid my r98's and loctited them in.

as minprime just said, we found out first hand about the bolts...
drove to amviv no problems.
on the way back the bolts started to work themselves back out :(
perhaps a bad batch of loctite? i dunno.
but im gonna disassemble them again in a few weeks and order some new bolts in case the ones i have stretched at all.

pls post info on where to get those bolts if possible

Gnat can get some awesome stuff.....but I don't think he'll be able to get the bolts separately. BMW probably doesn't list them with part numbers as they are BBS parts and BBS refuses to sell the bolts separately due to liability issues.

I'm pretty sure the black forest industry bolts are the same I have on my BBS's....but I'm not sure they'll work having seen glen's wheels this weekend

Glen...sorry to hear you had issues on the way back Which color loctite did you use on them?

blue loctite... but as i recall, when i initially put them on the loctite was a little on the thin side, i shook the hell out of the tube too... like i said earlier, maybe just a bad batch? i dunno. but now they are in solid and still at 28lbs torque.

and FYI to you guys... the r98 wheels are RONAL's, NOT BBS while the r90's are BBS made.
the thing is i dont know if my wheels are actually assembled by ronal but i know for sure that when i took them apart they were stamped with RONAL info.

im very curious to hear more info on the bolts...

you could try talking to RTH...they sell BBS accesories all the time to US owners off ebay: http://stores.ebay.com/Racing-Team-Hofmann-RTH

I'm not sure whether you could go SS bolts....I'm not really sure what tolerances and stuff go into the bolts.

Just shot an e-mail to Ronal Co. We'll see what they say or if they can help.
It does sound like your loctite was goofy, my bolts still have a thick layer on them even after removal(?) Did you paint or powder-coat?

I'm not sure why these won't work. Same as the Black Forest ones. Only diference between stock ones is the head and stainless. As long as the head flange is 12.5mm(.5").....

If those work...there are lots of places that sell them in the US because modifying RS's and RM's is really popular. It's also an easier tool to find

If someone has a set of R90's apart and wants to test fit one of those sized bolts....I have the used originals from my wheels that I could send you for a test fit and then send back. Or I could grab measurements if there is anything you need.

Dude they look sweet, I seen them at AMVIV and took pics (I thought they were powder coated) I liked them so much I bought a set of R98s at AMVIV for $300 (good deal) now on GP0019, plan to powder coat black and polish lip.

those look a little on the long side. could be an optical illusion since the head is smaller. also keep in mind that the socket may not fit into the holes that the bolts sit in. might be tight. i can't say for sure because i don't know what size the tool is.

That's a sweet combo. I'm doing something similar to a set of wheels later this summer.

Stock bolts are still holding up fine (about 1000K mi) . I blue loctited them, and just checked the torque after reading this, but I have no problems. I'll post a few pictures when I wash the car. The wheels are not mirror, but are notably shinier than stock.

BTW does anyone have experience with aftermarket steering wheels? I could use some help finding information on where to get a steering wheel hub for my R53.
