Interior/Exterior CF Door Handles
That's why you gotta get in on the GB, better price!
Even still, $150 for custom, made to order, hand laid carbon fiber is not bad at all.

Idk 150 is a bit much for stickers

Got my shipping notice today--woohoo!
This will be the LAST piece of chrome on my car to go--no more shiney door handles. I officially move from de-chrome to NOchrome.
Will reveal all when installed.

Sure they aren't a "complete" replacement for the door handles but why would they be? They would have to be way more complicated to house the lock & latch mechanisms. To pull that off they'd end up being triple what these cost and look exactly the same.
Oh, I got my notification today also!
So hyped.
Nope, those vinyl stripes on the bonnet are stickers. These are covers made from carbon fiber. I can use double stick tape to let them be temporary or I could use an adhesive to permanently attach them.

I've been trying to use the tracking info but the USPS tracking is about as worthless as they come. UPS can practically give you the exact position of the truck but USPS can't tell me anything other than that they haven't lost the package.
Why don't those USPS webmasters get it?!?!
Why don't those USPS webmasters get it?!?!
They get it, they just don't give a s***.

I got the door handle covers today--very nicely done!! They are similar to the Umnitza headlight covers I bought, but a preliminary test fit shows them to be a better fit than the headlight covers! Not perfect, but easily adapted for an unnoticable fit in my opinion. As soon as I have them on, I'll post a photo or two.
The final touch!!

Maybe it's just mine, I'm not 100% thrilled...
Okay, I picked mine up today and test fitted them. I don't think there is a tape made strong enough to hold them in place. Mine fit about half-way on, then I have to push them in place with moderate force, and still they don't butt up against the rubber around the stock door handles. If I let go of them they will litterally spring off, so I know the tape won't hold over time. I would be interested in hearing what others say. maybe I just got a bad set.

Mine also require some force to fit over the handle and against the rubber base. They come with 3M VHB tape, which is supposedly a very high bond tape, providing the equivalent of a mechanical attachment. I was thinking that if it didn't work, I'd just epoxy those suckers right on...
I checked 3M technical pages, and there are lots of VHB tapes. I wonder if AC can tell us which model (multipurpose acrylic, eg?) tape they use, and why they chose that model?

Mike said believe him, so...
I talked to Mike and he said believe him, once the tape/glue sets up you will not be able to pull it off, no matter what. So, I heated up the handle and glue, stuck those suckers on as hard as I could and spring clamped them in place. I will leave them clamped for a couple of hours and see what happens. He, (Mike) also said there probably would be a thin line of chrome showing around the area where the CF meets the rubber handle gasket. If they stick OK, I will run a small bead of black silicone around that area.

I just put mine on, and yes, when you dry-fit them you'll see the line of chrome. I covered the handle with belt-line tape just at the edge of the handle to cover the chrome, then installed the covers--no unsightly chrome to be seen! The tape is pretty sticky, and I'm confident they will hold, but time will be the judge.
They look great!
No more chrome...
