Anybody ever heard of chrome side mirror caps with black checks on it? Pics?

 

nope, never heard of one. You might have to be the first to do a custom set of these. . .

I would highly recommend NOT putting black vinyl checkers on the mirror cap. If you do, you are going to have problems when it's time to detail it. You'll have polish and wax build up in all those lines and corners.

And with vinyl you might have problems with the corners lifting because of the sharp curves of the mirror cap.

My recommendation: Take your chrome caps to a body shop and ask them if they can paint on the checkers and clearcoat (without clearcoat, you would have similar problems with polish and wax build-up). Ask them if the clearcoat will affect the luster of the chrome, also. What's the point of chrome if it doesn't have it's full luster ?
