Who has repalced their mirror caps?
I know we talked about thisa before, but I'm curious
what you did with your old caps.

Did you go Chrome? Or did you paint them?

Or did you just keep them?
I would like to see some cars with the new caps.

O, I would love to to buy your old ones if you still have them.

MiniMon, I love those caps!!!
Are they painted?

I wanted to buy them but I think they would clash just a little with the yellow.

But I do have a pair I bought and I hope to have them painted and installed in the next couiple weekds.

How hard was it to get your old ones off?
Did you break the clips?
If not, how did you manage it?

They are painted on. The mirror caps are a little tricky but after a while you'll get the hang of it. You use a spoon handle. I found it worked best by starting on the bottom tabs and as you loosen them have your fingernails gently tugging at the same time. The tabs didn't break even though I was so sure I broke one when I had to use some force. I guess they are stronger than one thinks. My first set of UJ caps had some paint runs so I returned them and the next pair is perfect. Therefore, I've put the caps on/off a few times. All I can say is patience!!!!!

A spoon handle huh?
I just don't want to break my tabs.
I'm sure there is a "factory" way to do it.
There has to be some kind of tool or something.

The UJ Caps look great. Good choice!

Aloha, MiniMac

Check out your other thread on 'Removing outside mirror covers, Difficult?' , I posted these pics:

It sounds like people are getting creative on the use of "tools"
