These pictures all look great!
Makes me want to get the car out since I just finished my mod as well.
Will try tonight to take some better outdoor pictures.
This fuzzy one will have to do for now.
We had bad weather over the weekend so the coop held down the garage all weekend like a champ!

That looks great, I like that you went with a dark silver metallic paint instead of black. I think the black would of been too much. Now I just have to decide which color to paint mine, already bought the black Krylon Fusion paint, but now I'm not sure what color to paint them. I guess I will try the black and do a dry fit, if I don't like it I will pull the headlights back out & paint them another color. Should have pics up this week.

Color matching vinyl?

Lagston,

Do you have color matched vinyl for say chilli red, does it have matt or gloss finish - do you have pictures? whats the cost?

I'm totally dechromed apart from the headlight rings. I'd like to body color my headlight rings but paining them is garanteed to chip and with vinyl wrap i suspect you can't get a good enough match to the body color. Black is not an option for me as I dont want the black eye look.

Painting the rings doesn't necessarily mean it is guaranteed to chip. It is all in how the shop preps the chrome pieces for paint. The shop that painted mine did a fantastic job, and it's very durable. For extra protection, I chose to have clear bra applied.
Lyle does great work, and he may have a less expensive option for you. If you choose to have them painted, shop around for a reputable shop comfortable painting chrome pieces.

clearbra - painted headlight rings

Shooler,

Thank you for the response. I'm comfortable painting the chrome rings myself I did the door handles and gas cap already. If I painted the rings then I would consider clearbra on them as no matter how good of a paint job the front end stones would get through eventually. I've got clearbra on my car front due to the inevitable. How did you do the headlight ring clearbra, purchase blank sheet, trace ring when off the car or on, cut and apply when off the car or on, any lessons learned about that process to get the best finish, would be appreciated? Do you have real close up pictures showing the results please? I've heard that getting the rings off is difficult without breaking the tabs and that you're better off tearing the old ones off and buying new rings to paint - is that true?

Regards, Lee (WLSH BST)

I'll take close up pics when I get home from work. It's easy to remove the rings without damaging them, just take your time and you won't break any clips. The clear bra was applied with the rings off the car, and was very easy to do.

I could be wrong, but aren't those the "ultimate grills" from M7?

Yes, M7 grills.

So... I very very reluctantly gave the body shop my car back today, so they can try to remove THEIR overspray from my wheels.. anybody had any experience trying to remove overspray from wheels like this?

They seem to think it'll be an easy fix, but the detail guys at our dealership think they're crazy...

I didn't get a real pic of the overspray because it's been raining and you can't see it any way, but it's nearly half way around on the lips, goes about 1/3 into the black center of the wheels....
