Cobra Misano seats

I plan on doing the occasional track day and so I'm thinking of changing out the front seats for the Cobra Misano model. I need to maximise headroom so I'm thinking of attaching the drivers seat in a fixed position to eliminate the slider mechanism - I'll keep the slider on the passenger side.

Does anyone have any experience of how the Cobra Misano seats fit in a MINI? Any issues I should be aware of? Does the airbag system need to be modified to allow for the removal of the front seat airbags?

Disconnect the battery, and then you can remove the seats. I hear that a 3.3 ohm resistor will the fool seat airbag. I have never tried it. I also think that you should let the car sit with no battery for a while before disconnecting the airbag.

You are getting a racing harness at the same time right?

One more thing, you insurance company will not take kindly to removing airbags.

Yes. Getting a racing harness.

Good point about the insurance company. I'll check into it.
