Interior/Exterior Preventing clogged drains
Preventing clogged drains
Some of you may find the appearance of this mod unacceptable, and when the weather warms up, I'll probably redo it to look cleaner (the closeup looks pretty shabby, but from a few yards away, you don't even see it, and it is 45 degrees out, so I didn't have enough time to work with the glue). If you live under trees, you may have experienced the joy of having drains get clogged by bits of plant life or leaves. Frequently this ends up with a wet interior in your vehicle
The R56 is particularly prone to getting stuff stuck in the drains. There are two that I found. One out in the open, and the other under the wiper shaft.
So with a little hotmelt glue and a small piece of plastic screen (anyplace that sells bulk screen will give you a small piece for free, or if you PM me I'll send you one) , problem solved...

Yeah but the hole is molded as part of the skirt down at least as far as I can see. Blowing air into the hole could make things worse as the hole is tapered. So when something goes in there I have to carefully pull it out. When the weather warms up, I'll be able to do a much cleaner looking job. But in the cold the hotmelts just hardens right up before you have a chance to work with it.
