Interior/Exterior HEATED SEATS
Yes you can. However, you probably posted this in the wrong forum (it should be over in the 1st gen interior forum since you have an 05).
I retrofitted OEM heated seats into our 2005 MCS and it was fairly easy. The only real problem is getting a hold of a set of OEM seats that have the heater elements in them. The seat heaters themselves are actually stitched into the seat covers and so you have to replace all the covers in your seats just to add them (and that's waay too expensive and so it's cheaper to just replace the seats with used ones bought from a junk yard, etc.). Thus, if you can find a set of seats for sale on eBay, etc. that already have the heaters, then MINI actually sells a retrofit kit that you can buy to hook them into the car (around $150 or so if I recall).
Alternatively, there are quite a few aftermarket kits out there that allow you to add seat heaters to your existing seats. Of course you don't get the nice integrated OEM look, but they'd probably still work just fine.
Edit: See the blurb about my heated seats retrofit on MotoringFile:
Heated Seat Retrofit - In Action
And here's the official retrofit guide along with part numbers for the kit (thanks to MotoringFile):

EDIT #2: Here's a link to a $130 per seat aftermarket kit (I don't know anything about it, but thought I'd pass it along just in case):

I have retrofitted aftermarket seat heaters in a couple of VW Jetta's. One has to "carefully" remove the seat covers. My 07 Cooper has leather sport seats that are not heated. I am contemplating doing the aftermarket heaters but, I am a bit anxious about trying to remove the seat covers. All of the seams are fastened down through the seat so it can be quite a job. I may tackle it this winter. I have a 99 Ford Ranger with power heated leather seats that I retrofitted from a Ford Exploder and I want to be able to crisp my buns in my MINI. I will post a writeup if I take on the job.
