Some years ago tire makers made blackwall tires that had a thin blue or red line about mid-wall. The effect was stunning and would look great on the right colored Mini. I can't find these tires anywhere. Does anyone know who might have them?

 

I had a set of "redline" tires on my 61 Corvair (yes me, now the driver of a high performance hatchback used to drive a slow and low Corvair with a 2-speed hydroslide... the only car I've had that got near as much atention as the MINI). Anyways redleg, I don't believe there are any redline tires out that are worthy of the handling the MINI is capable of. However, BF Goodrich (click it) makes tires with stripes of red yellow or blue on the tread that might look good (or cheesy depending on one's opinion).

I don't think you are talking about classic "Redline" tires, like on 60's cars.
You are talking about the colored stripe running around the tire, on the tread.
They had all sorts of colors.....yellow, red, blue, green, white.
I have not seen a car with them in a while.
The last one I saw was a 1996 Black Impala SS....driven by an 80 year old woman.
Cool car for such an old lady.

I remember from the '60s, "Uniroyal Tigerpaws", which [as a gimmick] had a red stripe on the sidewall and were put on many GTOs. On the Uniroyal website, they still have 'Tigerpaws', but no red stripe, just white letters.
