I just had to open this thread didn't I?

I may have to adjust my order on my Mini before it reaches the east coast. I ordered the driving lights that they install at the port. I've been chatting with the DH about just installing our own. Heck, we come from a 4X4 past when everyone had to have the mega roll bar light bar situation going on, not to mention covering the front also in KC equipment. DH is very handy and knowledgeable on these fronts. The dealer sort of scared me out of a DIY when he mentioned it may effect the warranty. I'm sure they are just making a pretty good profit off this few minute job at the port.

I think it is more that a few minute job, but yes it's pure gravy for MINI.

Since your DH has experience with lights, go aftermarket & get some good ones on there.

Frank at CF, told me how much he liked my light bar this weekend

I also heard that Palo Uber is making a bar for the new R56 too !

I went with OutMotoring brackets as well. Very well engineered.

It took MD 8 weeks to decide if "Mystic" was acceptible. How long did it take them for those plates?

On the Palo Uber, do you have to drill into the bumper? I had heard that you do.

Only have to drill into the plastic. The bar mounts to the frame of the car, making it very strong!

That is one thing I like about the bar and the fact of where you drill into the plastic. the top of the lower lip. 2 or 4 holes depending on how many lights you are mounting.

I have a 2010 R55 which already has the stock 2 driving lights on the top of the mid-bumper. I wanted to get mounting to put 4 rally looking lights on the bottom lower grill, but I cannot find a bar or mounting for the R55. I see them for the R53 and love the kind of rally look. Can anyone help me out with finding a mount that will put the lights in front of the lower part of the grill?

My approach.

Best driving lamps/fog-light bar-image.jpg
Here are the Hella 500 drivers on factory Mini mounts and lower staggered Hella 500 fogs on simple studs I mounted to the impact bar. Middle grill and bar were fubar when I bought the car. New upper and middle grills and a dent fix are on deck--for SPRINGTIME!
